Carol Blacklaws is a Canadian writer from British Columbia. She is the author of two non-fiction natural history books The Fraser River - A River of Life and Legend and In the Footsteps of Alexander Mackenzie.

My vision was to craft an outdoor wilderness theme gallery like website that showcased the stunning images used throughout her books. The color pallets are warm but realistic. The typography, a typeface influenced from the mid to late eighteenth century. The top header banner captures viewers attention immediately and ultimately designed to inspire visitors to purchase her latest book. The contact page loading transition was a crowd pleaser and ultimately stole the show.

Development wise I decided to use WordPress for the backend a popular blogging platform and perfect fit for writers like Carol. Under the hood I developed a custom webpack solution for compilation and minification of both the JavaScript and Sass used throughout the website. An extremely fun site to develop that's both mobile friendly and a must see!
